How To Make A Rose Flower (version 3)

  • A4 piece of paper in the colour of your choice ( i used 80gsm/copy paper)
  • An A4 green piece of paper
  • 1 1/2 inches, 1 1/4 inches and 1 inch diameter objects (you can use paper punches if you have some in different sizes
  • scissors
  • a toothpick (cocktail stick)
  • A pencil
  • A skewer

Tracing cutting and shaping

  • Trace and cut all three circle sizes. Make 6 circles for each size
  • Coil them up with a tooth pick
  • Unravel all but one, leave one of the smallest ones still coiled up. But make sure that the unraveled ones are still curled up a bit for dimension
  • The unraveled circle is the centre. It is to this piece that all the other circles (petals) will be glued
  • Apply glue to the bottom part of the circles and glue them around the circle coiled piece. Start with the smallest ones and finish with the bigger circles.

The stem

  • Cut the green piece of paper into 4 (A6 sizes)
  • Coil one of the pieces with the skewer
  • Cut slits into the top of the coil piece (at least 4)
  • Spread the slits apart and glue the flower on them

The leaves

  • Cut one of the A6 pieces of paper in half
  • Fold the cut pieces in half and then cut into three equal parts
  • Cut leaf shapes.  You should have 6 pieces
  • glue them to the stem
